WorldViz PPT Wand

The WorldViz PPT Wand is a handheld device that tracks the user's hand and enables interaction with and navigation through the virtual environment. Equipped with buttons and analog inputs, it provides 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF) using optical LEDs and an internal orientation sensor. The wand features an ergonomic trigger, joystick, and D-pad buttons and communicates to the receiver via Radio Frequency (RF).

Device Components

Power Button

  • Location: The power button is located on the side of the wand.
  • Operation:
  • Press the button once to turn the device on or off.
  • Manual Configuration Mode: Hold the button down for more than one second to enter configuration mode.

LED Indicator Light

The LED light provides important status information:

  • Battery Charge Status:
  • Charging: When connected to power, the LED blinks red, with the blink speed decreasing as the battery charges.
  • Fully Charged: The LED turns solid green when the battery is fully charged.
  • Configuration Assistance: During manual configuration mode, the LED assists with programming.

Battery

The PPT Wand uses a 2000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Below is a guide to approximate battery life based on LED intensity, with hours being approximate and based on a new battery.
