External Data Recorder - Screen Based Eye Trackers Guide

This guide covers recording external applications with a screen-based eye tracker, such as the EyeLogic LogicOne or Tobii Spark. Screen-based eye trackers use a separate version of the External Data Recorder, based on External Application Data Recorder 1.0.

Setting Up the Eye Tracker

Install your eye tracker's software and connect the device before running the recorder. The Screen Based Eye Trackers page has the full setup for each tracker:

  • EyeLogic LogicOne: install the EyeLogic server software, then plug in the device over USB.
  • Tobii Spark: install Tobii Pro Eye Tracker Manager and the tobii_research Python library, then plug in the device over USB.

Tobii Spark requires Vizard 7

The tobii_research library is only available for Vizard 7, through the Package Manager. To record with a Tobii Spark, install the library and run the recorder with Vizard 7.
